It is accepted amongst designers of hard landscaping that soft planting is not always enough to produce the correct visual impact.

It often requires the introduction of statues, water features, raised planter areas, built in seating and other garden structures,

all of which add visual enjoyment and complement the design and enhance the overall appearance of the paving & garden.

We have put together a selection of images demonstrating the types of visual impact that can be achieved.

Simple things built into a design can make the difference to the amount of visual impact it has and is created.

Things like using inlay manhole covers within the paved area, brick up stand edging between the paving and garden border,

or the leaving out small areas within the paving to be used as planting, or infilling with slate, stones or cobbles.

Coloured slates and gravels can also be used to great effect especially in areas where you wish to have planting intermingled. 

The use of old timber sleepers together with old paving and rocks can also be used to produce an interesting area.

It's not all about size when it comes to paving, small areas if installed properly can look far more attractive that a large area of paving.

It's all about the accessories that you choose to compliment and finish the area producing that instant visual appeal.
